Food is a Human Right that War Destroys

WAW Vigil: Food is a human right that war destroys!

When: Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from Noon to 1 PM

Where: At the I Love NY Food Fest, Capitol Side of the Plaza

This is the annual WAW Iran Project vigil at the I Love New York Food Festival.  This year the theme is based on the proposed FY 2018 budget that prioritizes war and military occupations instead of programs to deal with poverty at home and abroad.

We have a flyer that emphasizes the costs of WAR, BOMBING, and BLOCKADES that result in International Famine, Hunger at Home, Millions of Refugees, Epidemics, and Loss of Land and Water.Iranfoodflyer.red (2) (1).pdf final version

We also have signs and banners and invite you to join us in vigiling for an end to Endless War and weapons sales, and a return to humanitarian aid and diplomacy.

We will be standing at the State Capitol side of the Plaza and leafleting there as well.

Please join us and bring a sign or use one of ours.

*President Trump’s proposed $54 billion increase in the Pentagon’s budget for military spending would take money from domestic nutrition and environmental programs while adding to worldwide catastrophic problems with food and disease through our support of military solutions rather than diplomacy. *
