Women Against War: Out of Iraq Projects
Here's a brief synopsis of our work towards stopping the invasion of Iraq and (after March 2003) continuing work on ending the ongoing war and occupation:

Women Against War was founded about six months before the 2003 war in Iraq began. We wanted to add our Capital District women's voices to the widespread national and international actions that were demanding a change in the US government's plans to launch military strikes against Iraq.

Our first major public action was the Fast for Peace which you can read about on our website.
Between December of 2002 and March of 2003 over 100 women engaged in a relay fast each taking a 24 hour shift at the Women's Building in Albany and passing the fast on. We kept a journal of our experiences and a video was also produced.
