A Personal Invitation from Maureen Aumand:

In October and November, Women Against War produced, in conjunction with the Theater Institute at Sage, GROUNDED by George Brant. This award winning one woman piece about how a female drone pilot is impacted by her work played to great local applause.  You may, in fact, have been in the audience and can personally attest to what a sterling job director Leigh Strimbeck and actress Kate Burrello did in bringing the play to life.

We have been offered the stage at Capital Repertory Theatre on North Pearl Street in Albany on the evening of Monday, March 16th. It would be great to fill the theater, and I am hoping that you might be willing to reach out broadly and persistently to friends and family who may have missed the first series of performances.

This is a mainstream successful play, and so its appeal is to a broad audience. Thus, it is theater at its best, engaging people in a powerful human way in issues which confront us as a society.

This performance will be followed by a talk back facilitated by Kate Dahlstadt and Chris Antal from SOLDIER’s HEART.

This spring the profile of the play is about to be raised. The Public Theater will be presenting GROUNDED during April and May in NYC, with famed actress Ann Hathaway in the lead role, and the lauded Julie Taymor directing.

So, please encourage fellow Capital District friends and relatives to be moved by what will soon be a much talked about play. Now here in our own backyard, at Capital  Repertory Theater on the evening of March 16th at 7:00 PM.

Admission will be free. Reservations are not required.
