Grannies for Peace Outdoor vigil on Indigenous People’s Day: Monday, October 11, 2021, 3:30 PM, Wolf Road and Central Avenue.

Save the Date:  “Join with indigenous people ~ Stop pipelines and fossil fuel Infrastructure.”

An in-person vigil on Monday, October 11, 2021 [Indigenous People’s Day] 3:30 PM at Wolf Road and Central Avenue, Colonie.  This vigil takes place on Haudenosaunee land

As Grannies for Peace we support this movement for many reasons: We honor the long enduring wisdom of indigenous people, and their treaty rights.   We learn from their powerful work as protectors and teachers about Mother Earth. We respect the creativity and courage of indigenous women and their allies who lead this movement as Water Keepers and Land Protectors. We join our hearts, energies and desires to protect the Earth’s children and grandchildren and other living creatures who share the Web of Life.

This vigil will take place rain or shine.

Out of respect for the safety of ourselves and others we will be following Covid Protocols:  We request that all participants wear masks and maintain social distancing at this outdoor event.  (Some masks will be available if you forget yours.)

We have many signs and banners and invite you to hold some of them with us.  Also feel free to create and bring your own messages.
